IACC is pleased to announce a Maths Olympiad test on Saturday, 26th Sep 2020 at 11 AM for the great pool of young talent in the community and provide an opportunity to the parents in exploring their children’s untapped potential particular in Mathematics.
We are working with our VIT teacher’s network to create a tailored experience for children from Year 2 to Year 5. IACC is also proud to award Scholarships for Category winners. The scholarship award is strictly based on average annual tuition fees for Government funded primary school in South Eastern suburban corridor of Victoria and will be awarded to only one winner per category.

Requirements and setup before taking Olympiad Exam
Account and credentials
IACC will create account for Parents to log into the Exam portal on IACC’s website. All details will be shared via email 24 hours prior to the exam. Parents can chose their own password to login. We encourage parents to do this prior to the Olympiad date but if you couldn’t do it or having issues setting up the account, IACC’s team will be on standby to assist you.
PC/ Laptop with camera and mic with secure internet connection
Please ensure your child (who is registered for taking exam) is all setup with PC/Laptop/iPad/tablets that has a secure and stable internet connection. The Exam is online and delivered digitally over IACC’s website that required internet to access the exam link. Also it is required to have Camera and Microphone enabled throughout the exam
Organise child to sit in a comfortable environment with easy access to digital device and alone in the exam environment for the duration of the exam
The exam duration is ~90mins, so it is critical that the child is in a good ergonomic environment. The environment is also important and hence we request that no parents, siblings, course books or any supporting materials must be available in the vicinity of the child taking the exam.
No breaks during the exam. Parents are required to prepare their child to have gone to toilet and are allowed to bring water bottle
IACC is a not for profit organisation and have engaged adjudicators to help monitor the exam digitally delivered over ZOOM meeting and children taking the exam will be monitored via the device Camera on the ZOOM meeting. The children are therefore requested to remain in the video camera’s range throughout the exam duration (or until the child has completed the exam). Child can un-mute themselves to ask a specific question to the invigilator should there be any urgent need to take a break and the invigilator can manage the request on an ad-hoc basis.
ZOOM Meeting link and secure link to the exam
A ZOOM meeting link will be sent to all Parents who paid for their children’s registration for the exam and are required to join ZOOM Meeting at 10:45 AM on Saturday, 26th September 2020.
Parents are required to help their child log-in via ZOOM Meeting link and for children to be present and all set up at 10.45 AM on the day of the exam.
Invigilator will do a quick roll call of children registered at 10:45 AM, share the unique exam password to children to ensure all registered children have access to their respective exam and they are all set to start the exam.
Exam Administrator will then create breakout rooms in ZOOM, 1 x breakout room per Category and 1 x invigilator assigned to each breakout room.
Log into ZOOM Meeting from only one device
Only one device per child is required to take the exam. More than one ZOOM session for same child would enable invigilators to take necessary actions.
Do's and Dont's during the Olympiad Exam
Exam Conditions
From the time that child starts the Exam, they are classed as being under ‘exams conditions’. This means that they should not communicate with parents, siblings and not refer to any supporting materials and any other form of ‘exam aid’. They can raise their hand in ZOOM or call out Invigilator to ask any questions that they may.
If the child needs clarity around a question, the question will be explained to everyone to maintain fairness but conscious of not distracting anyone’s focus/concentration.
Keyboard familiarity and special symbols
Children are expected to know basic key-board features in Maths (typing numbers, +, -, <, >), drag and drop right answers or selecting the right answer, be able to read a table on a digital form etc. The exam preparation material has lots of examples to allow your child to get familiar to the similar scenarios.
Secure and stable Internet connection
Please ensure there is a secure and stable internet connection. If there is any internet connection issue at your end, IACC cannot be held responsible for any lost time and the child will not be able to re-take the exam.
Accuracy and speed
Accuracy is the key for exam but speed of completion will be taken into consideration too.
After the Olympiad exam is completed
ZOOM Meeting
After the child has marked their exam as completed/finished, invigilators will ask the child to bring their parents in the ZOOM meeting and discuss next steps accordingly
Discuss results and review questions
Parents should be able to see their child’s performance and score straight away. Invigilators can also help provide further assistance with parents/child having trouble seeing their results or query around a particular question. Don’t forget to take a picture with our invigilators supporting you on ZOOM meeting.
Certificate of Participation
A certificate of participation can be printed or saved from the exam results screen. If you have any questions IACC team can re-send the certificate
Scholarship award winners
Scholarship award winners in each category will be announced by IACC on their website on Sunday, 27th September 2020 at 12 Noon and category winner’s parents will be contact via email/phone
Interview with Category Winners
IACC will also request a ZOOM meeting with the category winners for a quick interview which will be posted on IACC’s website and social media channels. Parents’ consent is required before we proceed, and all details will be sent over an email prior to the interview.
